Welcome to the online home of ArcticFlame

Fire, the passion and belief in one's music and one's self. Ice, the ability to ignore all who criticize or think they know what's best and continue doing what you believe in. These are just two of the qualities found in heavy metal's newest member, ArcticFlame. In a world where everyone follows the flavor of the month, AF sticks to their guns and creates music they grew up on and continue to enjoy.

The Hamliton Cafe show on Sunday was, lets just say, shitty. The headliners, The Mansfields, didn't bother to show (lucky them). Attendance was low plus it was hot as hell in the main room as there was no air conditioning. On the plus side, Morty made a rare appearance on stage and smoked!!!. Now for Monday night. AF had very low expectations as a Monday night show during the summer doesn't add up to very well attended show. But damn!!!! The Starland Ballroom was packed as soon as the doors opened at 7:00 PM. First up was the band Trimm. They reminded one of Disturbed. The played a great rendition of the Who's "Teenage Wasteland" that went over well with the crowd. Hey, if the original stuff doesn't work out, there's always the cover band thing! AF was next and played a strong set. A few miscues during the new song "The Unknown God" made the night a less then perfect one. The crowd reaction was one of most memorable ones. Lots of requests for guitar picks and drum sticks. Last of the local bands was Artikay who played a steady set as usual. Quiet Riot performed well but the set list was kind of lackluster. Many obscure songs between the popular but better songs made for a less energtic performance. Also, rumor has it that Rod stewart wants his suit back from Kevin Dubrow!!!! Overall this was a really great night for fun, listening to some hard rock and heavy metal.

The show at Dock St Bar and Grill on Saturday night went very well. The band met some new friends as well as older ones. Thanks to all you came out to support the band. Special thanks to Mike from WSIA radio in Staten Island. Also a new show has just been posted. On Thursday, August 4th, AF will be appearing at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ. Also appearing are LOMF, a new band to the New Jersey scene, whose sound is influenced by Frank Zappa, Primus and Black Sabbath. More info to follow....
