Well, i really appreciate Balistick Kick, which released excellent heavy metal album. I wish Mike Parradine a great new start with Arctic Flame. Mp3 sounds really interesting & I really recognize the "Parradine" touch on drums !
keep metal alive !

CURSES! Damn that IP address. I hate you computer smart nerds. I didn't think metalheads knew about IP addresses. I figured metallions only knew about bonecrushing, ear-rattling, mind-numbing madness. I guess i was wrong. DAMN U! DAMN THE WHOLE METAL NATION FOR LAUGHING AT ME. You may have won the battle, but the war shall be mine. I SHALL BE VICTORIOUS! DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN! Now excuse me while I gallop off to slay a fire-breathing dragon! Oh yea, I'm sorry!

On the state of metal since he quit PRIEST:
Rob Halford: "A lot of newer metal bands tend to jump into each other's territory, and things become blurred. So you have to strive to be different, and they go to extremes. PRIEST stands out from that because we've got songs that have stood the test of time. If you can whistle the song in a shower, you're in great shape. We came out of a generation in England that was absolutely immersed in melody. Occasionally you get remarkable things that come along like LINKIN PARK. When I first heard them, I thought, `Oh, God, finally someone is putting some melodies back into heavy music.'."

Yooo ... Glad to see my talented friend JEFF playing out and strutting those chaps and "hairy" boots. I can't wait to see him and the rest of the band jam. Lets try to keep some shows in NJ so I can make it.

Lots of interesting commentary as of late. Here's my two cents. There's no attempt to sound like anybody else on our songs. It's just ArcticFlame music. Period. Of course we are playing in a traditional metal style so there's bound to be similarities to the archetypal bands like Maiden, Priest, Fates Warning, Dio, Sabbath, Purple, etc. Those are all great bands that we grew up on so if their influence shows, so be it. If we can be a tenth as great as those bands I'd be happy. We're not reinventing the wheel here, just trying our own spin on the music we love. Also, like Mike said, being influenced by a band doesn't necessarily mean sounding like them. I listen to all kinds of music and I'm sure there's subtle or sometimes not-so-subtle influences from the worlds of classical and jazz music as well. Play Beethoven's Fifth on a distorted electric guitar and it sounds like Black Sabbath.
As for the Celtic thing, it's really just on a few tunes. It's a fun thing to throw in here and there and adds a little unexpected flavor. It might be influenced by trad Celtic stuff but we aren't actually playing any old reels or jigs like a folk rock band might do (see Fairport Convention or Tempest, for example). We're just adapting it to our style not unlike Lizzy and Maiden sometimes do. (and yes, Maiden have cited Lizzy as an influence and their first album came out in 1980.)
Also, it's not necessarily only a Celtic influence because there's similar examples of old time folk music, from places like Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Italy, etc.
Anyway, the music we've put out there right now is just the tip of the iceberg. Just a start and plenty more to come. Thanks to everyone for listening and writing.
